From the beginning, Joshua Farm has been committed to making fresh, local produce affordable and accessible to our neighbors in Allison Hill and beyond. We have accepted FMNP vouchers and SNAP/EBT at the farm stand for years, and now we are excited to announce that we will also accept SNAP/EBT for the CSA as well! Because of the regulations governing the use of EBT cards, we are doing things a little differently for members who would like to use their SNAP benefits. Here’s the process:
A $25 deposit/administrative fee will hold your space. This deposit can not be made with your ACCESS card–it must be cash, check or debit card. Complete the registration form and mail it with your deposit to Joshua Farm. Spaces are limited, so don’t delay!
Vegetable harvests and share pickups will start the last week of May and continue for 22 weeks, through mid-October. More information about pickups will be sent to you in May. All shares include a mix of freshly harvested, sustainably grown, nutritious and delicious vegetables and fruits, regardless of payment method.
Please bring your ACCESS card with you to pick up your vegetables. Every two weeks, your ACCESS card will be charged $35.70 (large shares) or $20.50 (small shares) . The government agency that oversees SNAP benefits has a rule that you need to get the food you’ve paid for within 14 days of payment. This is why your card will be charged every two weeks, instead of one lump sum at the beginning of the season or the beginning of each month.
If you do not pick up your vegetables for two weeks in a row, you will forfeit your place in the program. You will not be charged for the remainder of the season, neither will you receive a share of the harvest.
If there are insufficient funds in your EBT account, you may pay with cash, check, or debit card.
You will receive a weekly email with recipes and farm news, invitations to farm potlucks, and access to pick your own herbs and flowers. You are always welcome to purchase additional items with your ACCESS card at our farm stand. Please contact Kirsten Reinford with questions at 717.497.5578 or by filling out the contact info below.
